Travel and planning topics appear often in IELTS Speaking and Writing tasks. In this activity, you’ll practise three common future forms in English — will, going to, and present continuous — and learn how to use them naturally when describing plans, intentions, and arrangements.

3. Planning a Trip with Friends

Grammar Explanations

1. “I’m going…”

– Present continuous for planned future arrangements.

2. “I’ve been wanting…”

– Present perfect continuous to show a long-term desire that continues up to now.

3. “We will take…”

– “Will” for on-the-spot or possible decisions, not fixed yet.

4. “She is going to…”

– “Be going to” for clear intentions or personal plans.

5. “I will get…”

– “Will” for future actions the speaker has just decided or promises to do.
